The Gulgong Show Society is seeking nominations for the position of the 2026 Gulgong Young Woman!

APPLICATIONS CLOSING ON THE 30th OF NOVEMBER 2025

Previously known as the showgirl competition, this competition gives entrants the opportunity to be the young female ambassador for the Gulgong Show, our local community and the Agricultural Show Movement. The role recognises and celebrates the achievements of young women who contribute to their local community and embodies the values of rural life. More than just a sash, it is an opportunity for young women to strengthen their interviewing and networking skills whilst showcasing their rural knowledge, community involvement, confidence and life goals.  As the Gulgong Show Young Woman, you will act as an ambassador for our show and community representing our district with pride at local events and the Zone 5 Young Woman competition.

• Gain leadership and personal development skills
• Gain experience in interview and communication skills
• Opportunity to attend a development day
• Assisting Stewards on Judging Day
• Volunteering at events held or supported by the Show Society like Community Stalls, Working Bees, hosting events, marching at the Anzac Day Commemorative Service and decorating the Henry Lawson Float and much more!!

Selection Criteria

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Aged between 18 and 25 years as of the 1st of May 2026
• Residency, employment or study within the Gulgong district
• Genuine interest in the local community and rural NSW
